Monochrome…not always the same old song and dance! Here I have selected some statement pieces that embrace an edgy take on the monochrome colour palette. The soft grey of the sweatshirt breaks up what is otherwise a heavy black ensemble, along with the splashes of gold in the accessories and trimmings of the ankle boot. Choosing versatile pieces, this outfit would double as a killer day or night look.

…While didacticism suggests Satan Loves You…I think we’d all agree…

It sure feels great to be loved!

I know I’m not the only one who has been swept up in The Great Gatsby sensation. With an admiration for embellishment, I am in the process of polishing my pearls and shining my diamonds, for a more is more tribute to the Jazz Era. Here I present my own selection of decadent pieces resembling the glittering Gatsby era.

After all, Daisy Buchanan was nothing if not magnificent, and would delight in the company of such decadent jewels as these…

Peaches and Cream

For those of you who have followed me blog to blog, would know that my nail trends are not usually so neutral. However, I am finding the more I explore the Shellac range, the more I am loving a simple flat colour- especially since the shades are so beautiful. I particularly love this Peaches and Cream pastel colour and upon first glance, I was instantly reminded of nude patent leather (my other seasonal lusting) with the extreme shine gloss finish. I encourage your thoughts, do you love it or loathe it? Hate it or rate it?

And finally fashionistas… I pose, what is your ultimate go-to nail colour?

Wishbone by Lily King

Lily King Silver Wishbone necklace.

When it comes to the trends of statement jewellery, a common perception indicates that size certainly matters. Style has often dictated that statement jewellery relies on big, bold and chunky designs, as seen in the collections from Chanel, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana and Givenchy. In saying that however, I love the statement made by a delicate pendant and chain, like this dainty Lily King Wishbone necklace. Simplistic and yet elegant, this piece manages to compliment the outfit without becoming OTT, not to mention, a wishbone is considered to be a lucky charm!

Style Tip: combine understated embellishment with a minimalistic ensemble including dark denim/wet look tights, a crisp white buttoned shirt and black loafers. Alternatively, tone down a bold aztec print with a fine chain and detailed pendant.
