It’s so easy to style a chic ensemble when you are working with a monochromatic colour palette. Lately I’ve been drawn to pieces that feature a black on white print, as they create a light and airy aesthetic. So naturally these high waisted, striped culottes have been on high rotation. Did I mention the vertical stripe creates the illusion of longer legs? #instantpins for the win! Teaming with an asymmetrical top in the same tonal colour, I’m vibing effortless with relaxed structure, lightweight and breathable fabrics and killer accessories.

Speaking of killer accessories, I have been gifted the perfect tote for summer thanks to Stefan. With a two tone design and generous size, this bag is housing all my must-haves for summer – makeup, sunscreen, bikini and beach towel (for beach trips) and my current read (The Carrie Diaries). This fab tote is part of a Stefan Xmas Special, where you can fill it up with your favourite haircare products and take 50% off the total! Celebrate a season of healthy locks and fab hair by visiting your closest Stefan or shop online by clicking here!

Now that I’m finished my christmas shopping, I’m taking some much needed down time, starting with a walk on the water front, followed by a casual dinner date with the girls. Since I’m taking in the sunset and salty air I thought it best to pop in my DAILIES TOTAL1 Water Gradient Disposable Contact Lenses for a little extra support this afternoon/evening. Allowing for longer wear, these lenses keep my eyes hydrated and itch free, giving me #morecontacttime from day to night! Curious to test out these lenses? Make sure you pop into your closest optometrist to discuss your trial, or visit morecontactime.com for more deets!

#MORECONTACTTIME at Powerhouse Theatre

If you haven’t already guessed, I’m a big fan of the dramatic arts and find any excuse to attend the theatre and watch the seasonal musicals, plays, live music acts or anything of creative nature. Just this week I was lucky enough to score a ticket to the opening of Queensland Theatre Company and The Good Room’s I Want To Know What Love Is; a fragmented journey of love and heartache, told through secret confessions and anonymous stories. Having heard much positive review of this production after it’s 2014 debut in the Brisbane Festival Program, I was excited to hear it was returning to the stage of the iconic Powerhouse Theatre.

As I entered the rustic power station turned performing arts venue, I was greeted by an array of Love Tags lining the staircase, filled with raw human emotion, funny anecdotes and tributes to loved ones. If I had a little more time up my sleeve I might have left my own transcription, however I had reservations for a pre show dinner with a girlfriend.

Sitting along the river, watching the sunset and indulging in some Salt and Pepper Squid, offers a lovely start to the evening, especially when your eyes are feeling hydrated and itch free, courtesy of DAILIES TOTAL1 Water Gradient Contact Lenses. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the comfort brought about by these silky, breathable lenses are comparable to none. Perfect for long-lasting wear, I’m reminded how amazing it feels not to have heavy frames sliding down my nose and ruining my makeup game. Let’s just say I’ve been converted to a frames free lifestyle! If you too want to experience a pair of these lenses, then visit your local optometrist for a trial, or visit morecontacttime.com and enter the online competition to WIN 5 Nights Sailing in The Whitsundays. Now that’s what I call a summer holiday!

As for the production, it was quite spectacular – containing some very humorous moments, a wonderful display of rose petals, relatable tales of love and breakups and a heartfelt cover of Lana Del Ray’s Young and Beautiful. Here’s a little snapshot from the performance, sourced from the Brisbane Powerhouse website.

Portmans Lace Stripe Pencil Skirt (available at DFO Jindalee), Country Road Fringed T-Shirt, Wittner Rover Heels, Pandora Disney Minnie Pendant, Pandora Disney Minnie Cupcake Pendant, Pandora Starshine Stackable Ring, Pandora Starshine Solitaire Ring, Pandora Rounded Pave Eternity Ring, Pandora Alluring Brilliant Marquise Cut Ring, Pandora Open Heart Pave Ring, Pandora Hearts Stud Earrings.

Growing up I was totally obsessed with everything Walt Disney, and I’m happy to report that at 26 years of age, nothing much has changed! Upon hearing that Pandora were releasing a Disney Collection, I started thinking about styling the perfect #ootd to team my sequinned, Minnie Mouse ears from Disneyland with. Can you imagine how excited I was when these gorgeous little Minnie Mouse pendants arrived at The Blonde Silhouette HQ? Ladies, if you too love Disney and beautiful jewellery, then you must check out Pandora’s Disney Collection, and add a few pieces to the wish list. After all, Christmas is only a mere moment away!

With monochrome being such a timeless statement, I decided to keep things simple and chic (with a few bright red accents of course!) I came across this elegant Portmans skirt on one of my successful shopping trips to DFO Jindalee, and I instantly fell in love with it! As I love playing with multi texture, I have teamed this piece with a fringed top from Country Road – and I love the extra depth and dimension this combination creates.

Such a cute little outfit should never be wasted, so I headed to my local cinemas (sans ears) to see The Dressmaker with a girlfriend. I’de heard so much positive word about this motion picture and was eager to see if it lived up to it’s reputation, and I’m happy to report it most certainly did. Not only was Kate Winslet exceptional with her Aussie accent and Liam Hemsworth exquisite (*drools), the story line had real depth, intrigue and some fantastic moments. Not to mention the 1950’s fashion decade just gets me! Let’s just say, this movie is far more than just a “chick flick”, and is well worth a watch.

Of course my DAILIES TOTAL1 contact lenses made the experience even more enjoyable, giving my tired little eyes some long distance support, and allowing for a sharp, crisp viewing of the Aussie film. I’m finding with each wear I am amazed at how breathable and comfortable these lenses are, and then there’s the added bonus of their disposable nature. Now’s the perfect time to trial the DAILIES TOTAL1 technology, by visiting your local Optometrist. Otherwise, visit the website for deets!

#MoreContactTime at Les Miserables OZ

Les Miserables Oz

If you’ve been following the gram, you’ll notice I was at the theatre last week to see Les Miserables for the second time in Brisbane. While I was lucky enough to attend the opening night, seated in the front row (next to Luke Kennedy no less), my second viewing would take place from the middle of the theatre seating. This gave me the perfect opportunity to test my DAILIES TOTAL1 contact lenses and get #morecontacttime out of the performance.

Somewhere between Javert’s hunt for Jean Valjean, I forgot I was even wearing my new contact lenses – that is how comfortable they are. I happily watched (singing along quietly), thinking how I never have to worry about itchy eyes or scratchy surfaces, two concerns I have previously had whilst wearing other lenses. Giving me guaranteed comfort for 3 hours, 2 acts, 1 interval and a french revolution later, I walked out of QPAC buzzing and singing the Les Mis score like a 1 woman act. Of course, I would have to make some costume changes, as Valjean’s convict #ootd just doesn’t resonate with my ladylike image.

After returning home and de-glamourising, I simply popped out my lenses and threw them away. That’s the beauty of these disposable contact lenses, they don’t cater for fuss! If you’d like to get your hands on some of these DAILIES TOTAL1 Water Gradient Disposable Lenses, then I would recommend visiting your local optometrist for a trial or check out www.morecontacttime.com for more info. Don’t forget to follow the #morecontacttime to see what the other bloggers are up to on their trial.

As for Les Miserables it’s well worth a squiz, so visit the QPAC website and book your tickets asap! For now, here’s a little #sneekpeek of the talent that awaits you x
