Wish Polish Dress, Wittner Ricky Bootie, Gregory Ladner Jockey Cap (available at David Jones), Oroton Metropolis Belt, Oroton Akala Bag (similar style here), Oroton Provenance Bangle, Mimco Stud.

Have you ever caught yourself drawing parallels between a real life sitch and mean girls? Well today I’m Cady Heron, plucked out of obscurity and asked to join the elite table with the Plastics (metaphorically speaking of course).  So, back to reality I am feeling a little spesh having been selected amongst the top Aussie bloggers to participate in the Wish “Winter In The City” Style Challenge, hosted by Wish and Honda Australia.

With a long-term love of the label and a massive #girlcrush on the head designer, Annette Cannock- you can only imagine my excitement having been selected to style up a piece from this season’s collection. Being someone who appreciates classic and timeless pieces, it is no surprise that I chose a gorgeous little black dress, otherwise known as The Polish Dress.

What drew me to this dress was the lace detailing, scooped neckline and flattering silhouette, three features that resonate femininity and timeless appeal. Styled with a wintery racing cap, luxe croc leather Wittner booties and a hint of tan to lift the black, this look transcends a classic Audrey into the 21st century.

With a city riverside view and a spectacular water feature, my super photographer, Erin Smith Photography and I added a little entertainment value to the passers by. Perhaps it was our amazing sense of style, or the sight of me slightly off-balanaced (against a fountain) in my 11cm heels, either way we certainly made the most of our 15 minutes of fame.

And if you thought that was all, then here’s a little extra surprise, a #bts video of my Wish “Winter In The City” shoot.

Hoping those judges find my outfit to be so “fetch!” Cross those fingers fashionistas!

Mimco Metallic Fuchsia Heels available at DFO Brisbane (similar style here), Bec & Bridge Oriental Blossom Skirt, Portmans Top, Thomas Sabo Glam & Soul Pendant, Fossil Watch (similar style here), Lovisa Rose Gold Chain Bracelet, Mimco Sequinned Pouch (similar style here).

Last month’s style challenge for DFO Brisbane saw me recreating my favourite look  influenced by Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Sydney and VAMFF. Hot on trend and favoured by the top bloggers, Gary Pepper Girl, Tuula Vintage and Oracle Fox, were statement heels. Bold colours, powdery pastels, spikes, studs and laces- we saw it all!

Metallic fuchsia points- a combination so statement that the 21st century Dorothy would have gladly swapped her outdated ruby slippers for such a pair. Purchased at the DFO Brisbane Mimco store, these babies add a little boldness to the subtle floral print seen in this Bec & Bridge mini.

I am super excited to share with you all that this look and my fashion musings regarding statement heels, have been published in this month’s online issue of Style Magazines. Check out my feature here!

In the mean time, check out the fabulous specials in store at DFO Brisbane, and visit the website and Facebook page. Happy shopping fashionistas!

Jane Lamerton White Lace Dress (similar style here), St Frock Dakota Chambray Shirt, Wittner Kurta Heels, Yeltuor Necklace gifted by my blogger friend Jessica Emily.

Dressing on a student budget, I’m always trying to get the most out of my summer wardrobe. This Jane Lamerton laced summer dress has been a favourite staple of mine throughout the season and its potential to become a transitional piece has me styling with this St Frock denim shirt two ways. Worn as a knotted crop or tied loosely around the waist, this denim overlay adds a little casual flare to my little white dress, transforming it into the perfect Autumn look.

Along with the gorgeous sunset, my afternoon was made fabulous by the company of my savvy photographer Erin Smith Photography. We giggled, vlogged and enjoyed a delicious Korean meal post shoot- such a perfect day for the dream team!

Cue Dress available at DFO Jindalee, Jo Mercer Sublime Ankle Boots, Maybelline Electric Orange Lipstick available at Cosmetics Fragrance Direct, Oroton Cuff.

If you look to the right sidebar, you’ll notice a shiny new button displayed, advertising that I am an official blogger of DFO- an accomplishment I am very proud of! As a newly appointed blogger ambassador, I will be completing a monthly style challenge at both DFO Jindalee and DFO Brisbane for the next three months….Shopping, styling and more shopping, otherwise my idea of a dream job!

For the month of April, my style challenge for DFO Jindalee was to create a transitional Autumn/Winter look with an international influence. With a mid semester break filled with Gossip Girl reruns, I decided to introduce a little NYC prep to my Autumn/Winter wardrobe, highlighting a plaid inspired print from Cue.

Fall (Autumn) Styling: As the temperature in the Autumn is still relatively warm, this dress is perfect as a statement piece. Teamed with an edgy ankle boot (like my Jo Mercer Sublime Booties), a bold lip colour such as this Maybelline orange hue and an embellished cuff, this look is both effortless and chic, ideal for a cute brunch date.

Marcs Trench (similar style here), Louis Vuitton Concorde Handbag, Jo Mercer Alexandra Patent Boot.

Winter Styling: From statement status, to a solid foundation, this structured dress definitely encourages layering to accommodate a change in temperature. Highlighting the colours seen in the print, I have selected a mulberry hue trench to enhance the warmth in the colour palette. The neutral print of my Louis Vuitton monogram handbag embraces a little print clash, without detracting from the outfit. A final touch of multi texture seen in the patent boots, adds polish to the look.

Transitional pieces certainly make a valuable resource in any wardrobe- you just have to experiment with their versatility! Which look do you prefer?
