It’s a stylish question I’ve been asked before; can a jumpsuit be formal and specifically, can one be worn to a wedding? Partial to a all in one number, I believe jumpsuits can certainly be styled for a more formal affair, however, I’ve got a few little stylish tips and tricks in my Louis Vuitton.

1. Ensure your jumpsuit contains the basis for a high end outfit, ie, is it beautifully tailored and made to measure or is crafted from a high end fabric? What I love about this Stella piece I’m wearing is the gorgeous structure highlighting bishop sleeves,  a cinched tied waist and billowing pants.

2. Consider a softer, feminine palette suitable for a ceremony, as well as the reception. Already a jumpsuit makes a strong optical statement, so subtlety is a safe choice. My recommendation? Anything floral or favouring blush or pastel tones.

3. Create elongated legs with an appropriate heel. Given a few inches of extra fabric, I have selected a pair of heels that offer a platform, alongside a generous block heel, creating the optical illusion of longer pins.

4. For accessories: think less is more! Keep the focus on the find, and accessories to the essentials. For this look, it means a striking set of earrings, a fabulous timepiece and a few dainty rings.

How have you styled your formal jumpsuit? Let me know your tricks of the trade in the comments below! x

Staple The Label Check Blazer, Witchery Dress (similar style here), The Daily Edited Mini Bucket Bag, Wittner Heels (similar style here), Pandora; Rose Harmonious Hearts Chime Necklace, Rose Bright Heart Hoops.

Ever since seeing the cult classic Heathers, I’ve been obsessed with Heather Chandler. The queen bee of the screen, her fierce aura, her defining status scrunchie and her impeccable style are just a few reasons to be envious of this fashion icon. So when I found this check blazer, I just knew I had a Heather-esque look in the making.

Feeling super preppy as I style this garment with this retro style frock. Just give me a hint of a frilled hem and bishop sleeve and I’m totally sold. Not to mention this crepe fabric is just heavenly to wear.

Todays accessories feature new season Pandora, highlighting the Rose Collection, along with my new The Daily Edited bucket bag – if Heather was around today, I’m sure she’d approve.

Full disclosure cuties, I jet off for Europe with Topdeck Travel and will have limited access to the blog over the next 4 weeks. Seems like a lifetime but think of the amazing content I’ll have for you upon my return. Keep up with all my travel adventures on my Instafeed. Au revior for now! x

Zara Faux Fur Coat; Brave + True Dress; Adorne Golden Ages Sequin Floral Clutch, Fishermans Hat; Pandora Black Vibrant Spirit Ring; Wittner Boots (similar style here).

For me, a good morning starts with steaming coffee and skimming over my instafeed, but a great morning involves a personal tour of the W18 collection at Zara Brisbane. What excites me about this collection is the eclectic mix of textures and fabrics; plaid, satin, silk and velvet, to name just a few. Invited to select some goodies from the new season range (no arm twisting needed), I choose an indulgent, yet practical piece that resolves a gap in my current wardrobe – that item being a faux fur coat.

Does one need one in this tropical Queensland climate you may ask? The answer is absolutely. Sure I have trenches, blazers, vests and the link to help me layer, but one thing I’ve longed for is a  faux fur coat to sling across my shoulders casually, or layer upon a cocktail outfit on a crisp night out.

I fell completely in love with the plush texture and snowy hue of this Combination Faux Fur Coat. Whilst some might find this piece a bit extra, I find it sophisticated and am reminded of the on-screen glamour of Lina Lamont (Singing In The Rain – for those of you that don’t quite understand the reference). This piece elevates a simple Wintery #ootd; comprised of a tweed mini dress, statement hat, sequinned clutch and my favourite suede boots.

Have you invested in a faux fur coat? I’de love to hear your styling tips, so leave me a comment below! x
