It’s a stylish question I’ve been asked before; can a jumpsuit be formal and specifically, can one be worn to a wedding? Partial to a all in one number, I believe jumpsuits can certainly be styled for a more formal affair, however, I’ve got a few little stylish tips and tricks in my Louis Vuitton.

1. Ensure your jumpsuit contains the basis for a high end outfit, ie, is it beautifully tailored and made to measure or is crafted from a high end fabric? What I love about this Stella piece I’m wearing is the gorgeous structure highlighting bishop sleeves,  a cinched tied waist and billowing pants.

2. Consider a softer, feminine palette suitable for a ceremony, as well as the reception. Already a jumpsuit makes a strong optical statement, so subtlety is a safe choice. My recommendation? Anything floral or favouring blush or pastel tones.

3. Create elongated legs with an appropriate heel. Given a few inches of extra fabric, I have selected a pair of heels that offer a platform, alongside a generous block heel, creating the optical illusion of longer pins.

4. For accessories: think less is more! Keep the focus on the find, and accessories to the essentials. For this look, it means a striking set of earrings, a fabulous timepiece and a few dainty rings.

How have you styled your formal jumpsuit? Let me know your tricks of the trade in the comments below! x

I Want What She’s Styling: Saoirse Ronan

When it comes to the Hollywood style files, I want what Saoirse Ronan is styling. From sheer, shift dresses to structured blazers, this young starlet can do no wrong, on or off the red carpet. I’ve rounded up some key wardrobe staples to recreate her best looks.

Saoirse Ronan

At The Lady Bird Premiere Dublin

Both demure and positively darling, Saoirse styles a sheer shift dress with an allover strawberry print, totally fitting for her quirky role in Lady Bird. Keeping accessories to a minimal she styles the frock with a pair of pointed suede boots, proving timeless accessories speak volumes on the red carpet.

At The Santa Barbara Film Festival

In a bold move wearing culottes on the red carpet, Saoirse combines the statement pant of the Victorian era with a draping satin blouse. Again, a pointed toe heel makes an appearance, which can be substituted with a pair of mules for a more modern take.

At The Lady Bird Press Conference

Channeling Coco Chanel in a tweed blazer, decorated with embellished brooches, Saoirse is a vision in this vintage getup. I adore how Saoirse pairs her blazer with a LBM (little black mini). Kudos on those pins girl.

Ted Baker Jumpsuit Collared Jumpsuit, Skin Footwear Eagle Rose Gold Heels, Jacket Vintage, Swarovski Flash Pierced Earrings, Swarovski Ring (similar style here), Pandora Rose Alluring Brilliant Ring, Oroton Bag (similar style here), Michael Kors Blair Pave Rose Gold-tone Watch.

The streets of Brisbane are rampant with stylish, fashionistas as the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival (or MBFF) kicks off at the iconic Old Government House. Understandably, it can be difficult to stand out amongst such a stylish crew, so add a new spin on a timeless trend – the all black ensemble. Presenting a how to guide, to making all black outfits striking!

1. Start with a strong silhouette, featuring clean lines and crisp finishes, like this Ted Baker Collared Jumpsuit. It’s perfectly structured with it’s plunging collar, belted waist and tapered pants. My favourite feature? The rose gold hardware.

2. Don’t underestimate the power of a jacket! Whilst often layering can overshadow a fabulous piece, the right jacket can make the look. I found this spectacular, embellished jacket while trawling through a high end, vintage boutique and immediately fell in love. This garment adds the right amount of texture and sparkle to enhance an all black outfit.

3. Make your choice of accessories pop! A combination of rose gold accessories instantly lifts an all black colour palette, adding warmth to the outfit. I’ve maximised my use of metallics, opting for luxe, rose gold jewellery, a statement cross body bag and finishing with the same shade of metallic heels.

4. Keep the emphasis on your outfit, with sleek hair and makeup. Think a chic, slicked updo, like this nape of the neck knot and ensure all fly aways are maintained. As for makeup, I love the sophistication of an earthy, smokey eye, paired back with a matte, nude lip. Perfection!

How do you approach the timeless trend of all black outfits? I’de love to hear your tips and tricks in the comments below! Stay tuned to see some serious MBFF fashion in the next post!

Marcs Nicole Long Sleeve Lace Top, Marcs Triangle Jacquard A-Line Skirt, Marcs Coat, Skin Footwear Bloodstone Blush Heels, Pandora White Orchid Necklace & Earrings, Pandora Ivory White Moments Double Woven Leather Bracelet.

There’s a little prep in my step as I flaunt my new Marcs ensemble, a feminine blouse and skirt combination, reminiscent of Blair Waldorf. The only thing missing is a monogrammed BW headband and of course, a Chuck Bass substitute.

The first thing I really fell in love with when styling this little outfit, was the intricate lace detailing seen in this feminine blouse. It also sits beautifully on, allowing for effortless layering on those crisp winter mornings. I’m teaming this piece with a classic A-line skirt, in a playful geometric print. Time and time again I’m reminded just how much Marcs nail their abstract, vibrant and sometimes quirky prints.

The real head turning detail from this look is this darling lilac trench coat (again Marcs). Believe me when I say that this piece is the comfiest, warmest coat that I have slipped on. I also love how this piece falls gracefully, allowing me to sling it over my shoulder for that nonchalant preppy vibe. I’m sure Blair would approve.
